A National Stock Number (NSN) is a 13-digit identifier the U.S. and NATO supply systems use for every standardized item — from O-rings to engine modules. PartsPerk maps NSNs to part numbers, OEM cross-references, FSC categories, CAGE-coded suppliers, and approved substitutes — so your RFQ goes out with the right candidates already shortlisted.
What an NSN tells you
· FSC (first 4 digits) — the federal supply class
· NCB (next 2 digits) — the NATO origin / classification country
· NIIN (last 7 digits) — the unique item number worldwide
· Standard nomenclature, INC, MRC characteristics
· Approved part-number / CAGE-code references
What we add
· Approved alternate / substitute parts surfaced explicitly
· Live supplier candidates (CAGE-verified, scored on history)
· Demand and lead-time signals when public data permits
· One-click conversion of an NSN list into an RFQ
Run a lookup
Search the public NSN, FSC, and CAGE indexes, or hand a list to the sales desk and we will package an RFQ across them.
